In the winter of 2001, I became interested in the practice of altering human consciousness using rhythmic audio stimulation. After reviewing the existing literature on the subject, I purchased and analyzed a representative cross-section of existing commercial products claiming to utilize the technology.
Using a 16-channel, research-grade electroencephalograph (EEG), I observed the effects on brainwaves produced by the audio products I had purchased. I noted significant discrepancies as I compared product claims with observed results. Perhaps most surprisingly, I determined that the prevailing theory explaining the physiological response to rhythmic audio stimulation was flawed.
In the process of analyzing the existing products, I developed a combination of audio stimuli that produced efficient audio-neurological coupling. The resulting EEG data obtained through exposure to this audio stimulation differs from any published data I can find. Currently a trial CD (RAS-1) is available to interested parties who would like to further this ongoing investigation. More information is available from the following links:

Please note that I have NO training in the medical profession, that I make NO claims of medical competence and that I am TOTALLY incapable of rendering any medical opinion. I am trained as a scientific researcher, having worked predominantly with the growth, processing and characterization of thin films. My area of greatest expertise was in ultra-high vacuum surface spectroscopy. I approach the analysis of rhythmic audio stimulation in an analogous manner to my spectroscopic investigations.
